Ultima IF4160 uses interferential electrical stimulation recognised by physiotherapists and doctors. Interferential stimulators, such as Ultima IF4160 are used for the symptomatic relief and management of chronic (long term) intractable pain or as an adjust treatment in the management of post surgical and post traumatic acute pain.
Interferential therapy is safe and has no side effects. Whilst the interferential therapy is very effective, it causes a minimum skin sensation and the level of discomfort related to the electrical stimulation and the passing of the electrical currents through the skin is minimal.
Ultima Interferential offers the choice between 2 polar and 4 polar therapy modes and 6 programmes. The 2 pole mode means that the interferential electrical signal moves between the skin pads on the same channel. In 2 pole mode the user can choose to use one or both channels. The channels can be used at different sites. For instance, in 2 pole mode you can treat two different sites at the same time (i.e. left elbow and right elbow).The 4 pole mode means that the interferential electrical signal is created by the interaction of the signals from all skin pads used. In the 4 pole mode only one site can be treated and the skin pads must be arranged in such way that the signal between them crosses over the area treated, making you to feel stronger stimulation.
